Daniela Spera

Daniela Spera graduated in Pisa in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, has a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences and works as a pharmacist. She carried out research in the field of oncology at the University of Paris. Partisan technical consultant in the investigation of the Taranto Ilva. Chairman of the Legamjonici anti-pollution committee, which has dealt with numerous problems: Ilva, radioactive waste (formerly Cemerad), landfills, Tempa Rossa oil project. It detects the absolute need for epidemiological surveys of all the pollution-related diseases and does so through constant information. In 2013 he promoted in Taranto the first collective appeal to the European Court of Human Rights on the Ilva case, with which she denounced the Italian Government that by issuing the various ‘Salva-Ilva’ decrees she disapplied the precautionary principle and endangered the health of the population Taranto. On January 24, 2019, the European Court of Human Rights recognized the violation of articles 8 and 13 of the Human Rights Convention. Her story inspires the journalist-writer Cristina Zagaria who writes the novel ‘Poison’ in which she tells about her career as an activist. From 2016 to 2019 he collaborates with the online magazine ‘Terre di Frontiera’, dealing with investigations and insights that have as their theme the environment.
In 2019 she is co-founder of the network ‘Mothers from North to South’ which brings together committees and associations that operate to protect the environment and health throughout Italy. She has participated in numerous events and carried out awareness activities in schools. She is a Journalist too.
